And… thinking about colonialism, and how they control all aspects of the people that they’ve colonized, and they’re forcing these Africans to go into brutal war for them and die for their cause. Fine film. Tragic, of course. But it’s still… it says a lot about humanity. It’s one of my favorite of Ousmane Sembène.”
